Sint Maarten

Sint Maarten is the name of the half of St. Martin island administered by the Netherlands. This territory is part of the Netherlands Antilles, which itself is a Dutch colony. However, all the islands of the Netherlands Antilles have their own local anthems, as well as using the Netherlands Antilles' anthem (which was written and composed by a resident of Sint Maarten) for purposes relating to the Netherlands Antilles. Interestingly, the anthem lyrics seem to solely be in English, although this is not an official language of the region (yet, as the anthem lyrics indicate, it is widely spoken.)

(It should be worth noting here that the other half of the island is administered by France under the Guadeloupe territory; I don't believe this anthem is used in the French side (only on the Dutch side), primarily because it is not usual for a French department (including Guadeloupe) to develop a departmental anthem.)

Special thanks to: Ben Cahoon for informing me about this anthem and Pawel Ciupak for the MIDI.
