Orange Free State
Words by: H.A.L. Hamelberg
Music by: W.F.G. Nicolai
In use to: 1902
The Orange Free State was established by Afrikaans settlers in what later became South Africa in 1854, and was conquered by the British (and later made part of South Africa) in 1902. It is unclear when this anthem was adopted, but I was informed of its existence in an anthems collection from 1890, so it would be before then.
Special thanks to: Pavel Zinovatny for informing me of this anthem and for the music file, and Paweł Ciupak for the sheet music.
