"Lietuvos Tarybų Socialistinės Respublikos Valstybinis Himnas" (State Anthem of the Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic)
Words by: Antanas Venclova (modified by V. Reimeris)
Music by: Balios Dvarionas and Jonas Švedas
In use: 1950-1990
After Lithuania was incorporated in the Soviet Union, it was given a new anthem. The anthem underwent a slight change after the death of Josef Stalin in that the second verse, which had references to Stalin, had its lyrics changed due to the USSR's program of "de-Stalinization".
Special thanks to: Yrjo Makela for some of this information, as well as Jaroslaw Wojcik for the Lithuanian lyrics (Lithuanian script), and Pavel Zinovatny for the music file.
