"Nunarput utoqqarsuanngoravit" (Our Country, Who's Become
So Old)
Words by: Henrik Lund
Music by: Jonathan Petersen
Adopted: 1916
The world's largest island, this sparsely populated dependency of Denmark also has a local anthem used by this self-governing island, adopted back in 1916. Since 1979, when home rule was granted, the government has also recognized the anthem used by the local kalaallit people, "Nuna asiilasooq" (The Land of Great Length).
Special thanks to: Kunuunnguaq Fleischer for some of this information and Klaus Caussmacher for the lyrics and sheet music.
