"中華雄立宇宙間" "Zhong Guo Xiong Li Yu Zhou Jian" (China Heroically Stands in the Universe)

After Yuan Chikai took over control of the country, a new anthem was adopted in June 1915. Yuan briefly declared himself emporer for a few months (from January to March 1916), and as such the lyrics were slightly altered, to make him appear more divine. (The lyrics on this page are as they were during the republican era of Yuan's rule). After Yuan's death in June 1916, this anthem was no longer used in the country.
