Netherlands Antilles

In addition to the official anthem, which is that of the Netherlands, the Netherlands Antilles also have a local anthem. This untitled work was written by Zahira Hiliman from St. Maarten island, and translated into the native Papiamento language by Lucille Berry-Haseth of Curacao island.

Each island of the Netherlands Antilles also have their own anthem (those that I have information on are linked below.) Some have been used as the anthem as the entire group (for example, Bonaire's anthem, without words, was the anthem of the entire Netherlands Antilles from 1964 to 2000.) Within the last few years, all the islands of the Netherlands Antilles have voted to either become separately administered areas (like Aruba) or become a separate entity within the Netherlands (like the other provinces of the Netherlands proper), therefore this anthem will probably no longer be in use when the islands' statuses change.
